The curriculum for the pre-primary section is designed to provide a carefully resourced learning environment which has three objectives:
a) to stimulate development of young children
b) to make the process of learning joyful
c) to prepare a strong foundation for higher education
Primary and middle school:
Under the control and supervision of teachers, the children are given a training in self-discipline because they learn to treat the different activities as constructive work and not mere play.
Learning centres around the categories of practical life----sensorial, mathematics, languages and culture.
Motor skills are developed
Leads to children becoming self-reliant and responsible.
Skills of problem – solving, computer and coordination are enhanced
Self Study Policy/Home-Work
Home assignments are set for students .The purpose of such work is to develop independent learning and self discipline among children. At BAS students will be given such work which will aid the learning process, will be appropriate to the age, ability and developmental stage of the individual students. Creative assignments will help students to develop their own ideas related to a topic taught in the class. Home assignments could also be an extension of class work or project work or preparation for a task ahead.
Scheme for Evaluation
There are no formal examinations till class IV, evaluation of the child`s progress will be a comprehensive and continuous one, taking into consideration the child`s academic performance in the classroom, his/her interactions with peers, his/her general awareness and assimilation of the lessons taught. Importance will be given to participation in co-curricular activities, class response, attendance and conduct in school.
